Raquel Kalina holds a degree in Visual Communications and Set Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in LA. She founded The Pretty Eclectic on the belief that jewelry is an expression of who you are. It should be fun but classic. Of long lasting quality, but affordable. It should inspire you and make you feel happy.

Influenced by the West Coast, and a love for mixed media art, she strives to create pieces that are playful, thoughtful, and a reflection of the free-spirited nature.

Every piece is handmade in California using recycled and ethically sourced materials from family businesses and her local and far away adventures. In addition, she incorporates soldering, electroforming/plating, wire-wrapping and stone setting techniques in her designs.

With a passion for working with different mediums, she focuses on color, symbolism and texture. At the end of the day, each piece tells a story, and she hopes that her customers find something that speaks to them and fills them with love & light.

The Pretty Eclectic uses high quality gemstones and metals, including Gold Filled and Sterling Silver. Brass components are polished with a clear protective coating to prevent tarnish and oxidation.

All crowns and hair accessories are unique and made-to-order. Gemstones, seashells, beads and crystals are sustainably sourced from all over the world and each piece is wire wrapped or weaved with natural jute.

All of our candles are hand poured with Clean Burning 100% Soy Wax, and mixed with dried organic flowers and biodegradable glitter. We use all natural, scented fragrance and essential oils and cotton wicks. Our collections also feature gemstones and crystals known for its metaphysical healing properties.

Our soaps are made with a natural Hemp Seed Oil, Goats Milk, Honey, Oatmeal, Shea or Cocoa butter base and scented with fragrance and essential oils.

Each piece is designed and constructed by hand.

Being on a personal journey of spiritual and artistic growth, we have a passion to create pieces that serve a greater good. Having been born in Hawaii, Raquel traveled a lot as a child and eventually settled in Southern California. The ocean and all of it’s wonders have always had a special place in her heart. Our Sirens of the Sea and Seaside Collections celebrate our support in preserving our beautiful oceans and wildlife through Oceana. Read more about their cause at: https://oceana.org
